For this recording, Wilson and the Sinfonia turn to the orchestral music of Maurice Ravel, though much of it began its life as piano music. As prominently displayed in the graphics, the premiere recordings of two original editions of the composer's ballet music are included: Ma Mère l'Oye and Boléro, the latter of which was restored by Wilson.
