Most of the stories are fine--when you get this many short short stories together, they can't all be great. My objection is with the ones who attempt arty styles, like what your creative writing teacher wanted you to do. In stories of 1,000 words or less, there's no place for that. A couple of the stories are memorable. I especially am impressed by "Ya, Boy" and "You Inside Me." These stories, different in a number of ways from each other, both show a younger man being opened up to new sexual experiences by an older, stronger, more daring man. The fascinating subtext is that the younger man will add the new erotic territories to his desire vocabulary, and probably widen even further, and thus making his sex life more intense. The younger men acquiesced, or even asked for the new experiences, so the new experiences, if momentarily startling, will be memorably repeated.
