Her parents divorced when Sylvia was six years old, and at age eighteen, her broken heart still had not mended. Having attended Christian churches throughout her childhood, Sylvia still felt in need of God's healing touch to handle the trials she was facing. Her prayers were answered in 2008, when she was introduced to Qigong meditation, a Chinese meditation that utilizes everything in a person (heart, mind, body, and spirit) to improve one's overall health and well-being. Sylvia soon became a dedicated student of Master Chunyi Lin, founder of Spring Forest Qigong, and implemented her Christian faith into her practice of Qigong meditation.
