This is a serious book about an unusual problem, porphyria, that doesn't affect millions of people but radically affects the lives of those it touches. In this instance, I think especially of the Russian Imperial family and Kaiser Wilhelm as well. While the discussions of the DNA of this disease are complicated, they are nevertheless readily understood and very interesting.
