Availing myself of this privilege, I would point out that public health being so serviceable a Journal is largely due to its having a capable and independent Editor, whose good judgment can always be relied on. It may be taken for granted that all literary matter forwarded to him has been hitherto, and will be, fairly dealt with. Any improvement in the future, it seems to me, must depend upon the quality and representative character of the subject matter contributed. Let this be understood, and let all the Fellows of the Society personally realise the importance of bringing under the attention of the Editor all matters affecting Sanitation and the Public Health Service. Thus may our Journal be more and more informing as to what is taking place throughout this country and on the Continent, and an increasingly helpful record of progress, difficulties.
