German description: In den Jahren 1523-1650 wurden im deutschspachigen Raum zahlreiche Kirchenlieder gedichtet, deren Textgrundlage die biblischen Psalmen waren. Das Psalmlied erfreute sich bei Lutheranern und Calvinisten, aber auch bei Katholiken und radikaleren Gruppierungen der Reformationszeit einer grossen Beliebtheit. Seine Geschichte ist einerseits durch interkonfessionelle Kontakte, andererseits durch Abgrenzungsprozesse von anderen Konfessionen gepragt. Die Studie bietet einen Uberblick uber das Psalmliedrepertoire der Reformationszeit. Sie fragt nach seiner Entstehung, musikalischer und textlicher Gestalt und nach konfessionellen Eigenarten. Die Ergebnisse tragen dazu bei, den Prozess der Konfessionalisierung anhand dieser kulturpragenden reformatorischen Gattung weiterfuhrend zu diskutieren.
