Yes, preschoolers can cook!
The old adage may say, 'never judge a book by its cover', but the exterior artwork on this cookbook truly sets the stage for the visual presentation of simple, imaginative and well thought out recipe-pictures found inside.
The authors, Mollie Katzen and Ann Henderson, observed and applied the fact that very young children can understand what is going on in a simple series of pictures. Mollie's charmingly drawn and colored representations lead children through the steps needed to create each recipe. The children's recipe pages are preceeded with a page of instructions for the adult 'helper'.
What a lovely way to engage young children in the art of cooking, reading and counting. What a beautiful way to spend time with a child you care about!
