Abe's and John's careers take off in different directions and they barely see each other for almost twenty years, but they do correspond, and both John and Abe pour out their hearts to each other. Even though John was not one of Lincoln's closest friends, he was somewhat of a mentor to the penniless, uneducated Lincoln whom he met in 1831. My story continues this respectful relationship to the end of Lincoln's life. Where did the impetus for change in Lincoln come from? My premise is John Davies and his soul-mate, Corinne, were influencers for Lincoln. Abraham Lincoln was a complicated soul.
