MY THOUGHTS ON THIS
Having read Wilderness Spa by Jim Halverson, I was glad when Ponce came up for review. Ponce: What Actually Happened at the Fountain of Youth by Jim Halverson is filled with historical events and the retelling of Ponce de Leon searching the Fountain of Youth. The story is expertly brought to life by Halverson from the pages found that were written by Ponce de Leon's chronicler in a dry limestone cave in the northwest panhandle. Though I really did enjoy the story and it's characters, I have to admit I was bored at times. It's not about the writing, this is a very well written book, I guess this part in history is not my thing. One thing for sure, Halverson clearly does a lot of research before writing this book, and it shows in the detailed scenes throughout the book. If you are a history buff you will find yourself enjoying this story. I highly recommend this story to anyone enjoying a good book with lots of history.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
