Great story!
This is the river experiences of Fred Way, Jr. from his first setting foot on a steamboat, as a boy, to his being a licensed pilot on the Ohio River. Way's writing is an easy read, full of humor! He reminds me a lot of Mark Twain, as to his writing style. I heartily recommend this book!
Capt. Fred Way, Jr. later became the world's foremost authority on Mississippi River steamboating, and is author of several other books, which I have in my library.)
