Loose plates as issued, grouped by title in plain paper folders, plus an introductory folder; all housed together in an elephant folio clamshell box, with floral decorations and printed label. New York: Harper & Row, (1971). Limited First Edition. Special edition limited to 500 copies, of which this is No. 85. Each contains a reproduction of a previously unpublished drawing of the terrier who posed for "Higglety Pigglety Pop" which is hand-signed by Sendak. The box is lightly edgeworn and the spine has been neatly recovered in blue cloth; the prints are in fine condition.
