This is a fun CD. The 13 performances are taken from Dick Hyman's Jazz in July series and, as the title implies, the emphasis is on the pianists which in this case include Hyman, Derek Smith, Jay McShann, Ralph Sutton, Dick Wellstood, Marian McPartland and Roger Kellaway. There are a pair of wonderful Ralph Sutton solos, duets by Hyman with Wellstood and Smith and a closing "Nagasaki" that finds Hyman, Sutton and Smith all battling it out on three pianos.
