Hi! My name is Astrid, and I'm 10 years old. I wrote this book when I was in the 5th grade as part of my homeschool curriculum. My inspiration for writing this book was when my Mamaw bought me a stuffed animal skunk, and on the tag his name was Pewie. I also had a unicorn stuffed animal named Uni as well. It just so happened that week for school my Dad told me to come up with an idea for a book. I thought of my stuffed animals and told my parents I wanted to write it about a skunk named Pewie and a unicorn named Uni who become friends. My experience writing my first book was hard at times but also fun. It was cool finding out what kind of stuff a publisher would need to do to write a book. One thing about the book that I didn't like as much was creating the pictures. The AI did not want to work with me at times, and that was probably the hardest part of making my first book. I hope you enjoy it and ask for more Pewie and Uni adventures! About the Author- Astrid Powers is a 10 year old homeschool student at the Gallifreyan Institute of Technology. Her dad named the homeschool and is a huge Doctor Who fan. She enjoys animals, especially dogs and horses. Even at such a young age, she has already started a dog training business and is training service animals for Dogs, Inc. Her goals are to publish many more animal adventures and also to work with Cesar Milan and Dr. Oakley training animals. About the Editor- Dr. David Powers is an adventurer, philosopher, and pioneer and lives a life of constant experimentation. His life's compass is "to seek out adventure in everything he does by being intentional, determined, and unstoppable and by energizing and outfitting others to embark on their own adventures". He fulfills his purpose through speaking and books and is a best-selling author in psychology and education. He is a decorated veteran of the Marine Corps and a founding member of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is married and the proud father of four feral boys and one princess that he and his wife homeschool. His mission in life is to find the magical best mug of coffee in the world.
