Good with no dust jacket. Mixed State. Title page shows an 1824 date, the hyphen is present in "Ave-Maria", and the illustrator is miss-spelled as "George Cruickshank". The half-title page is present. No advertisement page. There are 8 full-page illustrations (including the frontis) by Cruikshank. Maroon cloth and corners over marbled paper boards. Surface rubbing to boards. Some edgewear, and some wear at the spine extremities. The outer front hinge is cracked; the front board is almost detached. Small, plain bookplate on the front pastedown, and a previous owners name inked on the front flyleaf. Some age-toning, a bit of foxing scattered throughout. Else pages clean.
