I found this book and the writer to be very engaging from the beginning. Her writing is clear without being too detailed which I find a number of lesser writers do but Downie's writing make the reading excellent.
The characters are great also as she adds the emotions and frustrations to her characters being. Makes me feel for Ruso's frustrations in fnding a simple answer to his questions and for Tilla's abruptness to dealing with situations. Ruso really gets pulled in many directions. Poor fellow!
But a great book I would recommend to anyone looking for a really good read!

Loved this book. Third in a very new series - new author for me - great find. Can't wait for the next one to come out (hopefully will be one.). Could not put it down - bereft when finished!!
