The simple fact is that Joey Dee & the Starliters were a two-hit wonder group. 1962's "Peppermint Twist, Pt. 1" hit number one in 1962, and "Shout, Pt. 1" hit number six that same year. Collectables' ten-song Joey Dee & the Starliters' collection from 2005, Peppermint Twist omits "Shout, Pt. 1." Instead of "Shout, Pt. 1" you get some good stuff -- the crazed B-side of "Peppermint Twist" ("Peppermint Twist, Pt. 2"), some raw and loose covers of R&B hits ("Ya Ya," "C.C. Rider," "Kansas City"), another "Twist" tune, and a nice ballad ("I Lost My Baby") that shows the sensitive side of the wild nightclub rockers.
