This is a book of testimonies, accounts of how the Lord has worked in the lives of ten Pentecostal scholars. These are scholars who have blended Pentecostal ministry with academic careers. They completed doctorates at research universities, published scores of books and articles in refereed journals, established archives and research centers, founded and edited academic journals, made television appearances, molded hundreds of students, engaged in scholarly interchange in the guilds of the academy, been elected to prestigious academic societies, given keynote addresses at national conferences, presided over institutions within and without their native tradition. Apart from those enterprises lie their care for, and participation within, all the churches. The testimonies of these elders, like Moses' words in Deuteronomy, are offered as encouragement to the younger generations who will face their own challenges in the academy. Contributors include Steven Fettke, Vinson Synan, Murray Dempster, William Kay, Rickie Moore, Cheryl Bridges Johns, Frank Macchia, John Christopher Thomas, Lee Roy Martin, Amos Yong, Kenneth Archer, and Robby Waddell.
