Pentakosmos, this wonderful compendium of original works written for piano, reveals not only the composer's capacity for creative intelligence, but also his profound command of the instrument and of musical language in its harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and structural aspects. Each piece offers pianists the opportunity to experience the composer's sonic universe, full of jazz ideas and influences from various styles and genres from many countries. This cosmos of ideas, which involve the pentatonic universe, defines, aside from the artistic contribution, an important didactic material that fills a gap in the piano repertoire. The choice of repertoire plays an important role in the formation of the student, who should be exposed to a variety of styles. In addition, the meaning and motivating value of a work can positively influence musical learning. Considering the limitation of the traditional piano repertoire, which is largely based on the European repertoire, I recommend the inclusion of this book in piano course programs, so that pianists can develop their musicality and psychomotricity, as well as motivate themselves through a modern repertoire that is artistically attractive to the ears.
