No step-by-step illustrations anywhere in book. Illustrations are poorly made. There are many other beginning books much better than this book--pass this one by.

good basic book
I started an art class at my local college this last semester and I wanted a few books to help as a reference. This book is good for what it is designed for. I would have wanted more instruction in this when I bought it but I have learned a few things so I cant complain.
