Da wir nun in Sparta sovv'ohl bei dem lakonische_n Dichter Kinae thon, als auch sp???ter bei Alkman und Tyrtaeos die sicheren Spuren von einer Kenntnis der homerischen Gedichte vorfinden, so er giebt sich daraus, da??? die homerischen Gedichte in der 4. 01. (760 v. Ch.) in Sparta bekannt gewesen sind Absichtlich uber gehe ich hierbei Terpander, von dem neuere Gelehrte irrt???mlich geglaubt haben, da??? er Verse des homerischen Epos in Musik gesetzt und vorgetragen habe Waren aber die homerischen Gedichte beim Beginn der Olympiadenrechnung bekannt und wie wir gleich hinzuf???gen k???nnen, auch aufgeschrieben, so lag es uber aus nahe, ihre Einf???hrung bereits Lykurgos zuzuschreiben, wiewohl die ganze detaillierte Erz???hlung ???ber ihn wenig Wahrscheinlichkeit bietet. Demnach werden wir annehmen k???nnen, da??? die homerischen Ges???nge um die Olympiadenrechnung in Ionien im Auftrag Spartas abgeschrieben und dann in die dorische Heimat gebracht worden sind.
