This is a story of triumph and tragedy, success and shortfall, and most of all, interesting adventures along the way, told by the former Mayor of Oswego, N.Y. (author of "Forks in the Road"), who has led a diverse and interesting personal and political career as a small town lawyer and politician, rising to the top levels of the state and national political hierarchy. Starting out as a young County Legislator (23), County Political Chairman (27), and eventually Mayor (40), his career also brought him to Albany as Chair of the NYS Democratic party from 1995-98, Assistant Attorney General, Deputy Medicaid Inspector General, Upstate Coordinator for the Cuomo re-election campaign, and Administrative Law Judge, and on the national scene to the White House over a dozen times, and beyond to many national and state political meetings and conventions. He met lots of interesting people along the way, and has many stories to tell, and he is a good story teller. There is a consistent message throughout the book, and that is to keep your pants and your powder dry as best you can, and don't sweat the small stuff. Pick your battles, and learn from your mistakes, and above all else, keep a happy heart. It is an entertaining public journey through the eyes of a man with prodigious memory banks, with lots of wit and wisdom interspersed along the way.
