Externally sound with bumping to the head and tail of the spine, with loss to the backstrip. Rubbing to the front and rear joints, and light bumping to the extremities. The front and rear hinges are strained, with the rear hinge failing to the tail. Very light cockling and fading to the spine. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Good.

He was hugely popular during the Victorian era. Featuring an engraved frontispiece of Paul the Friar. Rebound in a cloth binding with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, lightly rubbed, with some damp staining to both boards, and wear to the head and tail of spine. Both hinges are strained. Internally, generally firmly bound, bright and mostly clean, with the odd handling mark, and marginal tide mark to the frontispiece. Bookplate to the front pastedown. Good Only.
