Patience while you wait!
A friend gave me a copy of Patience, along with the caveat that I would probably wind up buying several copies to give away, as he had done with the copy I received. He was right. Easwaran, about whom I had never heard but who I now know is a very respected writer on spiritual matters, has, in a small, portable book, collected stories both from his Hindu background and his every-day experience that put the elusive state of Patience within easy, or at least easier, reach. In a time where the chant could be "What do we want?" "PATIENCE!" "When do we want it?" "NOW", Easwaran's book gives us hints as to what patience really is, how easily accessible it can be, and what its rewards are. Warning: If you're like me, you'll wind up buying several copies for friends.
