Fun read and simple recipes
The book is luscious. Everything, the photography, the bistro stories and particularly the recipes. Merveilleux. I keep the book at my bedside to drop back into Paris almost on a daily basis. The majority of the recipes are simple but wouldn't one just love to present "Gratin de Macaroni a la Ancienne" versus Macaroni and Cheese? It is a perfect cookbook to wow people when entertaining on a limited budget. . .I buy a pound of smoked herring for five dollars and can serve 8 as an appetizer! I also can see "Pots de Creme au Chocolat" for 8 at less than $5.00 as well. Patricia Wells may find some competition from this cookbook. I highly recommend the book for someone who is wanting to diversify their cooking repertoire.
