Seller's Description:
8vo. Red and blue cloth, pictorial dust jacket. 343pp. Illustrations, map endpapers. Very good/very good. Jacket a bit rubbed and spine-sunned, with chipping at head and tail of spine. A tight and quite attractive second printing of this lighthearted travelogue through Panama and Mexico by the famed English author/explorer (1887-1957)--and a fine association copy to boot: The author boldly inscribes and signs in green ink on the half-title page to James B. "Bim" Pond, of the famed Pond Lecture Bureau for which Wells lectured: "To / Joan & Bim / with love / from / Carveth Wells / Feb. 15 1950." A lovely copy.
