There are numerous errors in both the text and the profile artwork, particularly with regards to 13th Air Force and Marine Corps aircraft. While the author claims that the book addresses a lack of information about Marine Corps markings, and corrects existing errors, it adds nothing to existing scholarship and in fact introduces many new falsehoods which are easily disproven through photographic evidence. The author also displays a lack of knowledge regarding the subject aircraft and the command structure in the South Pacific Area. For example, there is discussion of nonexistent differences between the USAAF's C-47 and the naval R4D, including the false assertion that the C-47 was not equipped to tow gliders, and the command structure chart inaccurately depicts Marine Corps units subordinated to the 13th Air Force. Finally, the profiles themselves are poor representations of the C-47, with numerous shape issues. While there are some nice photographs, the level of inaccuracy makes it impossible for me to recommend this book.
