Raucous R&B tenor saxist Higgins, a longtime L.A. favorite, honks and blows like a wildman on these 20 sides, dating from 1954-1956. Much of Higgins's work for the Specialty and Money logos laid unissued before this collection came out. His band included guitarist Jimmy Nolen (later a James Brown mainstay), pianist H.B. Barnum, and Chuck's brother Fred (as Daddy Cleanhead) handling vocals. ~ Bill Dahl, Rovi
