Park has Rutter's interest in a wide variety of classic texts and his knack for finding direct ways to put them across. But his range extends into areas little touched by Rutter. The Trinity Fauxbourdons (a Magnificat and Nunc dimittis) refer back to a medieval practice of parallel harmonizations, at first improvised, of chant melodies that echoed through two centuries of English polyphony.
