I found Out of the Depths very interesting though a bit dry. I'm glad I read it as I'm fascinated with John Newton and what led up to his writing Amazing Grace, which led me to the next book, The story of America's most beloved song, "Amazing Grace", by Steve Turner. I'm really enjoying this book and the story of the many musicians who've sung or played this song. I'm fascinated with this song from a Spiritual point of view not necessarily a Christian point of view and how it moves people of all beliefs.
