I couldn't warm to heroine Roxie. Much as I welcomed the sexual revolution for women, there is no easy way to put it: Roxie is a slut, not a term that deserves much use today. I get that she has a paternal issue that leads her to have sex with men she sees as powerful, but there is a lot of contradiction with her targets, since the murder victim should have been an ultimate choice. Then, when she jumps a passing college boy...enough. Liberated women are one thing, truly sick chicks,another. A shame because I liked her set-up and profession ( recovering archeological treasures)- very interesting. In full disclosure, I did express this opinion to Ms. Martin herself, and she was very huffy about my opinion.
