Anos.---He prophesied for a short period, principally against the Ten Tribes, under Rehoboarn H. He was contemporary with the latter part of the prophet Jonah and the begin-ning of Hosea. Note 'Z5. 3. Host-: A.----He flourished under the reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and of Jeroboam H. to the time of Hoshea; but his predictions were directed principally against the Tm Tribes for about 80 years. Note 26. 4. J 0EL.---H6 was contemporary with Hosea, during the reign of Uzziah. His prophecies were directed against Judah and Jerusalem. Note 27. 5. ISAIAH.---H6 flourished under the four reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and of Jeroboani ll. to the time of Hoshea, kings of Israel, and was contemporary with the prophcts Hosea, Amos, Joel, Micah, and probably Nahum. His predictions took an extensive range, reaching not only to Judah and Israel, but also to those heathen nations, Egypt, As-syria, Babylon, Edam, etc. He lived to witness the captivity and bondage of the Ten Tribes by the Assyrians Note 28. 6. MICAII.-'H6 prophesied. under the reigns of Ahaz and Hezekiah, against Judah, as an assistant to Isaiah. Note 29. 7. NAuUu.----The Nineviles having forgotten the preaching of Jonah, and the Assyrians having greatly oppressed both Judah and Israel, this prophet is sent to predict the destruction of their city, and the extinction of the cmpire by the Medes and Persians. _ Note 30. 8.
