The story followed suite with the other books in the series. The story was very well written. It was able to feel as though you were almost there, going through growing pains with Opal. The author displayed the interworkings of a teenager mind/heart/ and soul. Even though Opal is very mature for her age some of the feelings & emotions that she had enveloped herself in are truly timeless & classic. This helps the charcter to be able to connect the readers of this time period. The only thing that I really didn't like was the fact that she was soo young for her to be considering marriage to anyone. The author should have fast fordwared a bit maybe at least 1 year and 1/2 for her current age to be around be 15.5 yrs. So that way in the 4th book Opal would be around 18 yrs old.
