It's Mostly Fiction (Thank Goodness)
This is a good read. The protagonist, a woman who chooses to marry a "savage" she's never met rather than live her life in an insane asylum, quickly draws the reader into a plausible story. Most of us are ignorant of the Indian viewpoint of American history, and Fergus seems to present a balanced view of the relationship between the conquered and the conquerors of the nineteenth century.
