This is a very well written and researched book that tells the story of a secret radar site in Laos during the Vietnam War. The author has done extensive research into this sad period of our military history. The radar site, Lima 85, was overrun by the Vietnamese in 1968, and eleven U.S. servicemen became causalities twice. The first time as combat causalities, and the second time when the U.S. government tried to cover up the fact that these men were ever in Laos. This book shows what happens when politics overrules military tactics and common sense. From the politics behind the bombing of North Vietnam, to denying how and where these brave men died, is a period of our history that should not be forgotten. It details not only the circumstances of the loss of the radar site and personnel, but how the families were lied to about the loss of their loved ones and the struggle by the families to find out their fates.
