Not just another Christmas album!
This CD I bought for one of my favorite carols: "Wexford Carol." It is truly a beautiful piece, but so are the other 17. Elisabeth Kaplan has the voice of an angel. The musicians don't have a weak link amongst them. This is for those of us who love our "Rudolph" & "Santa Claus is coming to Town" (preferably by Boston Pops & others of that magnitude), but who want Celtic/Gaelic pieces as well. The pieces on here are much more mystical than the quintessential Irish tenor songs some of us know; some of them you'd be hard pressed to find on other holiday CDs. Don't expect these to sound English/Great Britainish (despite subtitle "Early Christmas Music and Carols from the British Isles); they won't. I got this CD long after Christmas (I play holiday music year round), and am looking forward to playing it this winter; it is so beautiful it will make you feel good after the holidays are come and gone (hopefully the bills as well!) Blessed Christmas to all!
