Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) is best known as the architect an designer (along with Calvert Vaux) of New York's Central Park and is considered to be the "Father of American Landscape Architecture". The company he founded was the preemient landscape and planning consulting firm of the late 19th century and was continued after his death by his sons Frederick, Jr. and John C. under the name Olmsted Brothers. This lovely volume surveys the the Olmsted-designed parks and reservations of New Jersey that were built from the late 19th (Cadwallader Park in Trenton) to as late as the 1960s.
