Olive and the Valentine's Spell
Olive and the Valentine's Spell is a cute little tale about a kindergartener, Olive, who is dreading the Valentine holiday and the possible event of having to marry someone. While Olive tries to figure out how to get out of getting married during this time, they learn the lesson of what real love is about and their worries are not as big as they seemed. I thought it was a sweet little story that made me smile and giggle at times. My young children liked it, as well, and had me read it to them again and again.
Olive and the Valentine's Spell is illustrated by the talented artist, Vanessa Alexandre. The pictures are colorful and vivid. They perfectly follow story and help bring the characters to life. They help the story flow and make it easy for younger readers stay focused on the story. I loved seeing Olive being brought to life.
Olive and the Valentine's Spell is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who are between the ages of four and eight. It would be a great addition to a classrooms reading shelf, as well as, the local library. I will be looking forward to see where else Helen Millman will take my young ones to next in her upcoming releases.
I received a hard cover copy of Olive and the Valentine's Spell from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
