Original cover, a dark brown/red half-leather hardback, with a hubbed backstrip and gold lettering. The cover is in poor condition, with scuffing to the corners and the more exposed areas of the backstrip. The cover is beginning to detach from the pageblock at the bottom of the book, but the binding otherwise remains intact throughout. The endpapers are marbled, and the leaves within the book are slightly browned with age towards the edges of the pageblock. The text is in fair condition, with no annotations but slight staining to the margins of several pages. Pages 271-274 have been reinforced with additional paper. This book has the top-edge gilt. This book has hardback covers. Ex-library, With usual stamps and markings, In poor condition, suitable as a reading copy. No dust jacket.
