The book is a collection of popular fairy legends as the title says narrated by an Ayah to a British family in the mid 1800s. Many of the stories I had heard before in my childhood. They are charming and timeless. I urge the reader not to omit the "Narrator's Narrative", which gives a very vivid idea of life in India of the mid 1800s.
