Very Good. 32mo-over 4"-5" tall Collectible Full black period calf, spine with raised bands and gilt floral tooling within gilt-ruled compartments, covers elaborately embossed in blind with star cartouches at center of each panel, and intricate border, all edges gilt, green endpapers (spine of solume 1 lacks top and bottom thirds; some wear to edges; text has some marginal dampstaining). Still an attractive set. Jean-Baptiste Rousseau (April 6, 1671-March 17, 1741), French lyric poet (not to be confused with Jean-JACQUES Rousseau). PROVENANCE: Elaborate engraved armorial bookplate of Charles Robert Colvile in each volume.
