The first paper includes the latest information on taste and its importance in the management of food intake and food selection, while the second paper provides a complete evaluation of the piglet as a model for infant feeding. The third paper discusses the role of nutrients to enhance the complement system in order to induce resistance to infection in malnutrition. Finally, rickets is reviewed in terms of epidemiologic, metabolic, genetic and religious factors, and in relation to vitamin A deficiency, iron deficiency and thalassemia.
