Seller's Description:
None. Very Good. The first edition of this interesting travel work looking at the North-Western area of France, written by Augustus Hare, illustrated with a folding map. The first edition of this work. 'North-Western France' is an interesting look at Normandy and Brittany in the nineteenth century. The author looks at various journeys and the places that could be visited along them, such as paris to Havre, Paris to Granville, Bayeux to Lamballe, and more. With a folding coloured map to the rear, showing North-Western France. Written by Augustus Hare. Hare also wrote 'North-Eastern France', 'South-Eastern France', and 'South Western France'. With three pages of publishers adverts to the rear. In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. A very little fading to the spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Very light marks to the boards. Bookseller's label to the rear pastedown. Front hinge is starting close to the textblock but remains firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with only the very occasional spot. Very Good.
