On their second LP, Dr. Frank and company sharpen their pop hooks and instrumental prowess, though admittedly, they are still a far cry from being Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Based on "Now We Are Twenty-One"'s references to Captain Crunch cereal and The Brady Bunch, one might dismiss Dr. Frank as another pop-culture damaged hipster-doofus opus, but "The History of the Concept of the Soul" erases any notion that Frank is stupid.
