I loved National Treasure, and Book of Secrets is just as entertaining.

Absolutely Fantastic!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first "National Treasure" movie. It is one of my favorites. This one ranks right up there with it! Exciting, informative, adventurous, action-filled, etc!!! Another real 'treasure' by Nicholas Cage and Jerry Bruckheimer.

N.T. Lite.... More hype, less filling
First I must say I am a huge fan of Jerry Bruckheimer's work and I have nearly every film Nicholas Cage has ever made! With that being said, aside from sidekick Riley Poole's (Justin Bartha) nerdy humor this film was a huge disappointment.
Although the assassination of Lincoln is a part of American history, I about fell out of my chair when in the very first few minutes of the movie a man with a pistol walked up and pointed it to the back of Lincolns head.... the you hear a gun shot... FROM A DISNEY MOVIE?! Definitely not for the younger family members!
National Treasure 2 is a cross between Indiana Jones and The Albino code. When a 140 year old piece of history surfaces that implicates Gates ancestors of plotting the assassination of Lincoln, Ben Gates (Cage) sets out to clear his family name by finding another legend of hidden treasure. The clues to the treasure are elaborate riddles, hidden in seemingly inaccessible places (involving huge underground sets, traps, flooding, etc)
This sequel is not nearly as interesting, impressive or as white knuckled as National Treasure 1. The scenes are drawn out and the props look more like a badly made video game. There is so much focus on the unbelievable action scenes that the plot gets lost and the clues are disconnected.
