A must-read
This is a wonderful book. It's about music, mathematics, physics, philosophy - in fact life in general. Drawing on an incredible range of knowledge and a deep understanding of what it is to be human, the author describes how sound permeates our universe and ourselves and how fundamental therefore music is to our existence. It needs effort and thought but It's a joyous book. One to be read again and again. There's always something fascinating to be discovered or re-discovered and it's the perfect book for keeping by the bedside and dipping into when you can. I strongly recommend it to anyone with any curiosity about the world they live in (and to all musicians).
