The book is divided into two parts: Part 1 is where the mother, Elisabeth, describes her upbringing in the Exclusive Brethren and the problems that caused, especially when she decided to leave and her parents cut her off. Part 2 describes the problems of running a family where two sons are in and out of hospital, particularly when they were younger. They have both been at death's door more than once; however, as Elisabeth explains, God has been her strength through all the ups and downs. If you have children with permanent long-term illnesses, read this book to get encouragement.
