When I find time to reflect, I think of how long a road I have traveled. It has been 28 years since I came to the United States . I remember the many nights that I sat up praying hoping for a better day. The fire deep within me kept burning as I found the strength to move on. Now, here I am a Trauma Surgery Director deep in thought. I sat on my couch a few nights back and began writing about how I felt about where I am in life right now and where I am heading. Everyday, I wake up, I want to give my very best in all I do. Lately, I have been doing some self reflection. Using a few minutes of my day to define things that affect my daily life .The most profound word is inspiration. Initially there was none for me and I knew I needed to be inspired to get the strength to continue. I soon found that inspiration can come from anything, especially from deep within when you truly need it. It also can come from another person, good or bad because there is always a lesson to learn. Many times, I reflect on the mistakes of my past and the point that I am right now. I have thought of the meaning of life and the consequences of my actions. I hope my reflections will be an inspiration to you.
