Beautiful illustrations and wonderful
word rhythm describe this enchanting book. The language in the book is vivid and specific. I used it as a mentor text in my fourth grade writing unit on memoirs. It's a solid book that encouraged students to use alliteration, compound adjectives, (toe-tapping), and strong verbs in their own writing pieces. It's a solid book that merits repeated readings. I placed this book in my "read aloud" basket and I think it will be a title that the students enjoy revisitng.
