And here is that themes such as that of the conflict between traditional values and new cultural contaminations, the universal theme of the search for an absolute of happiness, motherhood, loss, alcohol and substance abuse up to the theme of AIDS, are all present in the author's story. In her almost cinematic writing, they become episodes, told daily now with delicacy, at other times with disbelief, often with savory humor.
