During the rescue, the young marine was awkwardly introduced to a pretty orphaned ten-year-old girl Kim and her protective teenage brother, Lanh. The three quickly bonded, and their interactions inexplicably triggered the marine's paternal senses to befriend them both, thus, changing his life forever. Some fifty-two years have passed since I promised those kids I would tell the world about their story, and I plan to do just that, God willing.
